LUND Genesis™ Snap Tonneau
All-weather cover - protects your cargo in minutes
The LUND Genesis™ Snap tonneau cover, made in USA, aerodynamically smoothes out your bed reducing drag to improve gas mileage, while the "black leather" premium vinyl cover gives your truck a more stylish look. The full snap cover, made from premium vinyl, is custom fitted for your vehicle to protect your cargo from the elements.
The Genesis™ Snap is 50% thicker than competitive covers and its heavy-duty, powder-coated bows and rails prevent water or snow build-up. The construction includes heavy-duty black powder-coated rails and bows (3 or 4 bows depending on the bed length).
Pre-assembled to install in minutes
The cover installs easily onto any truck in less than 20 minutes. The cover's pre-assembled design mounts quickly to your bed with pre-marked rails and heavy-duty adjustable clamps. The instructions for the installation were very straight forward, and the installation itself was a breeze. The "hardest" part was stretching the cover itself over the bows and snapping it to the frame, but seeing as it was 35 degrees and overcast outside when I was installing it, the cover was a little stiff. I have since unsnapped and removed it a couple of times and have had no problems at all. The fit of the frame and cover is good, the only "problem" being about an 8th of an inch (or less) gap at the rear corners. This is due as much as anything to the design of the SportTrac bed and where the rear clamps must be attached.
The cover itself looks great once installed. I have now had it inplace about 3 weeks and it has been through a couple of very heavy rains and it kept about 95% of the moisture out of the bed. The only place I have seen water was just a small amount on the tailgate. I haven't fully decided yet if my gas mileage has improved but it does seem to have helped some, and these days any help is a good thing.
One more thing to note, if you have a bed extender, to open it to the extended position you have to remove it from where it mounts, slide it out then remount it in the open position, instead of just flipping it over. The cover frame prevents using it in the normal manner.
